On Saturday, February 10th, renowned celebrity chef and author, Chef Richard Ingraham, joined forces with MKTplace at Goombay Plaza for a community cooking demonstration like no other. The Miami native, known for being Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union Wade’s private chef, showcased his skills to local Grove vendors, honoring the spirit of Bahamian flavor that characterizes the neighborhood.
Using locally sourced produce and ingredients, Chef Ingraham whipped up grilled chicken and strawberry stuffed avocados for a live audience. He described the step-by-step tutorial using personal cooking techniques and unique tricks behind the kitchen. The interactive experience was projected on multiple screens for viewers, and Chef Ingraham engaged with locals and foodies alike in an open format dialogue.
After the live demonstration, Chef Ingraham shared some details from his latest book, Eating Well to Win: Inspired Living Through Inspired Cooking, and signed a few copies for audience members and local aspiring chefs. Chef Ingraham and the Chef RLI team stuck around into the afternoon, meeting with Grove vendors, sharing culinary stories, and helping serve classic Caribbean dishes to the marketgoers. Thank you to Chef Ingraham and members of Chef RLI for inspiring our guests and coming together for cooking and community.
